Why it’s a Scam:
Once you click on the Wall Post link, you are taken to a page engineered to look like YouTube. The url is bogus and not a legitimate Youtube page. You also can’t click any of the hyperlinks on the page – another sign of a scam site. The captcha here has underlying code that will post the scammer’s spam message as a comment to your friend’s Facebook postings.
Clicking Submit loads the following survey scam:
Never complete surveys to unlock videos or other content on Facebook. Scammers use these tricks to either spread malware, obtain personal identification or earn commissions from marketing companies. Don’t pad their pocket and possibly open yourself up to harm!
If you did make the mistake of clicking the “Submit” button, then you should clean-up your newsfeed and profile to remove references to the application (click the “x” in the top right hand corner of the post). Also warn your friends to ignore any comments that might appear on their postings.
Some of the surveys require you to download files to your computer. Never do this! If you did so in error, then run a complete system scan with a good anti-virus software program.
If you made the mistake of submitting your cell phone number for any of the surveys, then you should contact your carrier immediately to keep any bogus charges from appearing.
